An Anniversary to Remember

Dear friends of the Foundation,

More than 18 months ago we began planning 2017, our 25th anniversary year. We had a few simple goals. First, to say thank you to the hundreds of people who have supported the community’s endowment with their gifts. Second, to spotlight and encourage the organizations that support and create the great quality of life we enjoy here in Hancock County. Lastly, to reflect on what we do well as a community and discover what we could do better.

I hope you have been touched by some of the excitement our staff and board experienced over the past 12 months. Perhaps you shared the anticipation of a newly renovated Dorney Plaza or will benefit from one of the grants that were awarded to improve a community garden, or expand a bike path, or beautify a village square.

You may have participated in one of our many Community Conversations. Perhaps you attended our Nonprofit Speed Dating evening and matched with a new volunteer opportunity.

An organization you care about may have received one of several dozen matching grants on #GivingTuesday. Or you may have had the enjoyment of using our Spirit of Giving catalog to support one of the more than 300 individual agency, donor advised, scholarship, or field of interest funds that form the community’s endowment here at the Foundation.

On behalf of the board, staff, volunteers and many thousands of people who have been touched by your generosity, THANK YOU for making 2017 unforgettable. You have assured that The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation will continue to be here, serving Hancock County residents for decades to come.

I wish you a safe and joyous holiday season and a very Happy New Year!
