Standards for Determining Eligibility

The Robert J. Fox Scholarship’s ideal candidate will be a graduate of Findlay High School who also attended a Findlay Middle School, was very involved in school and community, maintained average grades, and has average need. The minimum requirements are as follows:

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must plan to be a full-time freshman enrolled at an accredited college, university, or technical school majoring in Social Studies or Education. Preference will be given to students intending to teach a social study curriculum.
  • Applicant must be a resident of Hancock County and a citizen of the United States of America.
  • The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school. The scholarship is not intended for the top 10% of the graduating class.
  • Priority will be given to those students showing a history of participation in school based activities as well as church and community/volunteer service.
  • Financial need is a requirement. The scholarship is targeting those students not with the greatest need, but those students which may “fall between the cracks”.
  • Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
