Katherine L. Schwinn lived in Hancock County Ohio for nearly 80 years before her passing in 2018. Katherine worked for 45 years for various local business. She ended her career with the Whirlpool Corporation, Findlay Division. She was an avid bowler in leagues in tournaments in state and national competition for over 50 years. She graduated from Findlay High School and attended Findlay College.

This scholarship was established by Katherine Schwinn through her estate plan to benefit a graduating senior from Findlay High School who will major in music or business.

Standards for Determining Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must plan to be a part or full-time student enrolled at an accredited university, college, technical school, or community college in Ohio.
  • The applicant must plan to major in Music and/or Business.
  • The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school.
  • The applicant must demonstrate hard work and display some job experience.
  • The applicant must demonstrate good moral character.
  • The applicant must have demonstrated good attendance while in high school.
  • The applicant must have NO criminal record.
  • Applicant must be a resident of Hancock County and a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Financial need is a requirement
  • Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
