Judy (Keever) Hall was born in 1949 and had her family roots in Tennessee. Her family moved to Fostoria in 1963 where she met her future husband Mark Hall during her senior year at Fostoria High School. They both attended Miami University where Judy majored in music education with piano as her instrument concentration. She and Mark were married at the end of their junior year on June 13, 1970 and graduated in 1971.

After graduation, the Halls moved to Detroit where Judy taught first grade for four years. They returned to Fostoria and Judy taught part-time music at Wesley Center Preschool. She took a job at Lakota Local School where Chris Brooks was the principal. When he relocated to Findlay City Schools, he encouraged Judy to apply as well.

Judy began her career at Findlay in 1988 teaching music at Chamberlain Hill School. She was later assigned to Northview Elementary School. In 1992 Judy came to the Findlay High School vocal department to be the assistant choral director. She was the founder of the freshman show choir Voices In Perfection. She continued in that role for 15 years until her retirement in 2007. During that time, Judy developed the music technology course and lab at Findlay High School. That program began with nine students and now serves 30-40 students per year. While at Findlay High School, Judy also served as vocal director for various musicals.

Judy received her Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University. She was recognized as Trojan of the Year for Findlay High School in 2004-2005. May 25, 2007 was declared Judy Hall Day in the City of Findlay to honor her outstanding career and commitment to music education in our community.

Judy and Mark have two sons, Brett and Christopher. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed traveling, golfing, painting, yoga, community choir and book clubs. She was a member of the Findlay chapter of Philanthropic Educational Organization.

This scholarship will honor Judy's legacy as a music educator by awarding a scholarship to a Findlay City Schools graduate pursuing a degree in music.

"I am where I am today because of the courage, drive and encouragement that Judy Hall gave me throughout my life. Without her believing in me, I wouldn’t be the music teacher that I am today. I will forever be thankful for Mrs. Hall and for her love and passion she instilled in every student she had." Alycia Althaus, Elementary Music Specialist
