John and Mary Blide were lifelong members of the Findlay community who loved their church, their family, and the game of golf.

John graduated from Findlay High School in 1952 and Findlay College with a degree in business. He was also a member of the US Army. He was a partner and owner of Findlay International for more than 45 years. John enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and was a member of the Findlay Elks Lodge. His passion was golf and he was a long-time member of Hillcrest Golf Club. His greatest accomplishment was seven holes in one, two in the same round.

Mary graduated from Findlay High School in 1954. She worked at Theatrical Accessories before becoming a partner and owner of SNAPS, Inc. During her costume career, Mary collaborated on a jumpsuit for Elvis, a Halloween costume for Ted Kennedy, and was featured on the TODAY Show. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf and cards, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Both John and Mary were passionate about golf. Their children created this scholarship in their memory to support a student graduating from a Hancock County high school who is involved in golf.
