Hancock Historical Museum Fund

Type: Agency

Hancock Historical Museum Fund

Established 2000  A single donor, on behalf of the museum, established this fund to support the maintenance of the Little Red School House, the MacArthur Train and the Mae Hutson Local History Resource Center.  Annual distributions from the fund will be available to the museum.  The Hancock Historical Museum Association was established by interested county citizens in 1970 as a private, nonprofit organization with the mission to collect, care for, exhibit and interpret items that will serve to illustrate the history of Hancock County from prehistoric times through the present, with emphasis on the gas boom period of the late nineteenth century.  This fund will provide operating support for the Museum allowing it to preserve the rich heritage of Hancock County by honoring the past and inspiring the future.
