Change to Fund Statements Frequency Coming This Year

February 27, 2017

Edits 0071

A few months ago we asked our fundholders their preferences regarding the frequency of receiving fund statements from The Community Foundation. The overwhelming response, 2-to-1, was to receive statements less frequently than quarterly. As a result, we will be announcing a change in our mailing frequency when we send out our 2016 year-end statements later this week. Going forward, statements will be published twice a year- after we post our June 30 and December 31 results.

I want to assure you that you are welcome to contact us at any time for fund information, gift activity, in response to requests from auditors, or any other reason.

The decision to change to a less frequent mailing schedule was not taken lightly. We constantly look at ways to control our administrative overhead and provide timely communication with our donors. Ultimately we want to provide good value to you, our donors, and to the larger community. Continuing with quarterly statements did not appear to provide this value. In the end the overwhelming preference of our donors for less frequent mailings made the decision clear.

We will continue to provide quarterly e-newsletters, regular updates to our website and daily posts on Facebook regarding our grants and other community activity. We will also continue to provide our annual investment briefing and full financial disclosure- audits, tax forms, and other filings- on our website. If you are not receiving our e-newsletter, please click here to subscribe.

If you have any questions or concerns about this change or how it might affect your fund’s activity, please contact me. Thank you for your past and continued support of The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation and our mission to improve the quality of life in Hancock County.

Sincerely,

Kathy Kreuchauf
President of The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation
