W. Kenneth and Ruth Helvie wanted to leave a legacy for students in the Hancock County area. This scholarship was established for students who have been active in their school and community.

The scholarship is dedicated to the student who has demonstrated good citizenship and attendance and wishes to pursue a post-secondary education.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school located in Hancock County.
• The applicant must plan to be a full-time freshman enrolled at an accredited university or college.
• The applicant must demonstrate good citizenship and attendance.
• The applicant must have participated in school and community activities.
• The applicant must have maintained a 2.5 GPA or above while in high school.
• Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Financial need is a primary factor in selection.
• Students who receive a full scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
