Raymond L. Landes was a gifted engineer, business leader and entrepreneur. He graduated from Miami University in 1970 and moved to the Findlay area when he accepted a position with Guardian Industries in 1984. After retiring as the company’s Vice President of Engineering, Ray pursued his dream of opening a restaurant in Findlay, Fins Seafood and Grille.

Ray was passionate about education and loved his hometown. The Ray Landes Memorial Scholarship will benefit a Findlay High School graduate who has achieved academic excellence and is an active member of school and community organizations.

Standards for Determining Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of ­­­­­­­­Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must plan to be a full-time student enrolled at Miami University (Ohio).
  • Applicant must be a resident of Hancock County and a citizen of the United States of America.
  • The applicant must have maintained a cumulative 3.5 GPA or above while in high school/the most recently completed grading period.
  • The applicant must be able to document their achievements, participation in organizations and volunteer service in the community.
  • Any student who receives a full scholarship that includes all of the fees normally payable by policy of the Community Foundation will not qualify for this Scholarship.
