Established 2025

Mary Ellen Wells was born at home to Dessie and Orlo Wells on October 9, 1933. She graduated from Arcadia High School and began her career as a secretary at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay. Her love of the mountains eventually drew her to Colorado, where she later retired from Marathon Oil in Denver.

Mary Ellen grew up helping her parents with their dairy business, delivering milk door-to-door. She enjoyed travel, golf, walking, theater, gardening and being outdoors. She loved animals, especially her dogs.

After her passing in 2021, Mary Ellen established this scholarship through her estate to support a graduating senior from Arcadia High School.
