Established 2026

Leonard and Sarah Stevens lived their lives guided by strong faith in God and in people. They believed that with hard work, opportunity, encouragement, and personal responsibility, anyone could achieve meaningful goals. They also believed deeply in helping others whenever possible, and they modeled that commitment through their service and generosity.

Education was especially important to Leonard and Sarah. Leonard served on the North Baltimore school board, and Sarah was active in the North Baltimore PTO. Together, they taught Sunday School, led youth groups, and held various leadership roles within their church. They supported local FFA programs and provided opportunities for young men to work in their implement business, where they gained hands-on experience in mechanics, sales, farming, and business operations. Leonard and Sarah also served on the board of MJ Owens College, and Leonard represented Wood County as a county commissioner for three terms.

Sarah passed away in 1984, and Leonard in 2006. To honor their lives and their lasting legacy of service, the Mike and Jill Stevens Ring family established this scholarship fund. It is their hope that recipients will pursue their goals with purpose, contribute to their communities, and pay it forward, just as Leonard and Sarah did.
