Jack Brown Memorial Scholarship

Pat and Jack Brown established this fund in 2010 for the purpose of investing in the higher education of students who demonstrate athletic leadership at Liberty-Benton High School. The award is for a full-time freshmen student at an accredited college or university.

Standards for Determining Eligibility

The Selection Committee will use the following criteria, listed in order of criterion importance, to determine the recipient:

• The applicant must be a graduating senior and student athlete of Liberty Benton High School.
• The applicant must plan to be a full-time student enrolled for their freshman year at an accredited college, university, or technical school.
• Applicant must be a resident of Hancock County and a citizen of the United States of America.
• The applicant must not have received any other Liberty Benton based scholarships.
• The applicant must have participated in sports at Liberty Benton High School, attained varsity letters. Committee should rank students based on the number of varsity letters received including those anticipated for spring sports.
• The applicant must have maintained a GPA that ensures success in post-secondary studies.
• Financial need is not a requirement.
• Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
