Intersil Corporation has a long-term history as an employer of many residents of northwestern Ohio. The company was established in 1954 as RCA and became Harris Corporation in 1990 and Intersil Corporation in 1999. The corporation is a leading manufacturer of integrated circuits with a strong engineering workforce; therefore this scholarship is dedicated to future engineers of our community.

Standard for Determining Eligibility of Students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a school located in Hancock County.
  • The applicant must be a full-time freshman student attending a four-year accredited university or college and pursing an engineering field of study.
  • The applicant must indicate an early commitment to pursue an engineering career by having successfully completed high school courses required by colleges to pursue an engineering degree.
  • The leadership capacity of the student will be considered.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate involvement in school and community activities.
  • The student must have maintained a high school GPA of 3.00 or better.
  • The student must reside in Hancock County.
  • If the applicant is not a citizen of the United States, they must have documents that would allow them to become an employee of Intersil as a student intern.
  • Financial need is a consideration not a requirement.
  • Students who receive full scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.
