Hollister Family Scholarship

Bob and Patty Hollister have been residents of the Arlington area since 1978. Their sons, Eric and Ryan, attended the Arlington school, and they have a desire to give back to the students at Arlington School.
Standards for Determining Eligibility
- The applicant must be a graduating senior of Arlington Local High School, or a graduate of Arlington Local High School entering their second year of undergraduate study. Preference will be given to a previous Hollister Family Scholarship recipient who is now in their second year of undergraduate study.
- Applicants should personify diligence, good work ethic, honesty, and motivation to achieve. Evaluators will consider these attributes through the letter of recommendation and essay portions of the scholarship application.
- The applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.
- The applicant must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of3.0 in high school or the most recent grading period.
- The applicant must be pursuing a degree in engineering, or the medical field, medical field to include physical therapy, nursing, and pre-med. The applicant may also pursue a career in the trades, including plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrician or construction management.
- The applicant must plan to attend a trade school, two-year or four-year college/university.
- The applicant must plan to be a full-time student.
- The applicant must demonstrate participation in clubs or extracurricular activities.
- The applicant must demonstrate participation in volunteering or community service.
- Financial need will be considered but is not the primary consideration.
- Any student who receives a full scholarship that includes all the fees normally payable by policy of The Community Foundation will not qualify for this scholarship.
