Dan and Aleta Yates created this scholarship to support a student going into the trades.

Standards for Determining Eligibility

• The applicant must be a graduating senior of a Hancock County School or have graduated from a Hancock County School within 3 years.
• The applicant must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in high school or the most recent grading period.
• The applicant must be pursuing a degree in the trades .
• The applicant must plan to attend an accredited technical school or two-year college/university.
• The applicant must plan to be a full-time or part-time student.
• The applicant must have worked at some point during their high school career or be currently working.
• Any student who receives a full scholarship that includes all the fees normally payable by policy of The Community Foundation will not qualify for this scholarship.
