A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Dave Lodge graduated from Robinson High School, Illinois and Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was also a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1943-1946. He began his career as a salesman at Marathon Oil Company in 1946 holding positions as Supervisor and Department Manager of Marketing and General Sales, International Representative of Marketing and Transportation, and Director of Trading and Transpiration Supply before retiring in 1983 as manager of Supply and Marine Transportation. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Findlay Skeet Club, Findlay Country Club, the Robinson Lodge 250F and A.M and the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo. Marjorie Lodge established this scholarship in honor of her husband who was an avid golfer. The intent of this scholarship is to support a Hancock County High School golf team member.

Preference will be given to a Findlay High School golf team member who meets the qualifications and is pursuing a degree in a math or science field.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a Hancock County high school.
  • The applicant must have been active in school and community activities.
  • The applicant must be a full-time student who will be enrolled for their freshman year of a four-year program.
  • The applicant must have played golf at a Hancock County High School for no less than two years.
  • The applicant must have maintained a 3.00 GPA.
  • Preference will be given to a Findlay High School golf team member who meets the qualifications and is pursuing a degree in a math or science field.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and reside in Hancock County.
  • Financial need is not a consideration for making application to this scholarship.
  • Students who receive full-tuition scholarships from educational institutions or organizations need not apply.
