Established 2025
Brian and Sonja Post were proud graduates of Findlay High School. Sonja went on to attend The Ohio State University, while Brian pursued his passion for television and media studies at Murray State University and Ohio University.
Both shared a deep love of reading and learning. Despite living with dyslexia, Brian’s determination never wavered—he used recorded books and other tools to expand his knowledge and feed his curiosity. Sonja’s degree in social work, combined with her strong belief in the power of literacy, inspired her compassionate work with the students and staff of Head Start.
On October 30, 2024, Brian and Sonja celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Tragically, just weeks later, on November 22, 2024, their lives were cut short in an accident.
This scholarship honors their legacy of perseverance, compassion, and lifelong learning. It is awarded to a student who—like Brian—has shown extraordinary determination in the face of academic challenges. The committee seeks a student who has worked tirelessly, using diverse learning methods or interventions, to overcome challenges and pursue higher education with heart, resilience, and a commitment to growth.
