Bill Slack graduated from Findlay High School in 1953. Over the next 50 years he expressed his love of FHS by announcing football, basketball, and even a few baseball games. Slack not only announced for home athletic events, but for much of the 1970’s followed FHS on the road as a sports announcer for WFIN. Bill served on the Armed Forces Day Committee and the Committee for the Hancock County Sports Hall of Fame, to which he was inducted in 1993. Also a fan of college athletics, Bill announced football and basketball games for the University of Findlay for over 25 years. As the owner of Adcraft Signs, Bill created hundreds of signs and logos many of which can still be seen throughout Hancock County. Bill’s friends were legion and his love of Findlay, Findlay High School, his family and friends are not soon to be forgotten. One of Bill’s fondest desires was to have his interest in Findlay High School continue by offering further educational opportunities to deserving students. It is in this spirit and Bill’s honor that his family has established this scholarship fund in his name.
