Giving Tuesday Matching Opportunity

September 18, 2017

As part of its 25th anniversary, The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is proud to announce a matching opportunity for IRS recognized tax-exempt organizations in Hancock County, Ohio.

On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, individuals, families, businesses and community organizations will come together to give back after the holiday shopping weekend. The emphasis on charity is an unprecedented opportunity for nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation would like to celebrate this fundraising occasion by offering a match for those special 24 hours in November. Up to $500 will be matched for each organization that registers in advance.

“This is a milestone anniversary for the Foundation and we want to celebrate accordingly,” said Kathy Kreuchauf, President of The Community Foundation. “We could not think of a better way to do so than giving back to the community that has supported us for our first 25 years.”

In preparation, the Foundation will host a roundtable session with Aly Sterling Philanthropy on Tuesday, October 10 for organizations with less fundraising experience. The session will cover topics such as using social media to fundraise, logging gifts, and how to connect with your donors and build their support for your organization. The trainer will be available following the session to meet one-on-one with organizations that may have follow-up questions. Training is not mandatory for participation in the Giving Tuesday match.

All registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Hancock County are eligible to participate. Registration is accepted until October 31, 2017.
