Foundation Invites Community to Pitch Ideas for Play
September 30, 2026
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation invites Hancock County residents to pitch ideas for recreational opportunities and free family activities as part of a special grant opportunity. Funds for this opportunity are available as part of the Foundation president’s discretionary pool of funds.
“We know that play is important, and we know the best ideas come from our community,” said Brian Treece, President & CEO of the Foundation. “We want you to pitch your ideas to us with the hope that we can make more play possible in our community.”
In response to community feedback that more opportunities for free, family friendly activities were needed in Hancock County, the Foundation created the Fun for All series of free community events. Since its inception in 2023, the Foundation has held more than 250 Fun for All events, with attendance exceeding 45,000.
To continue the fun and make even more of these opportunities possible, community members are asked to submit a 30-second pitch video and complete a short survey by October 9. Submissions should cost no more than $5,000 to implement and be free to the community. There is no guarantee that every idea submitted will be funded, but the Foundation will work with community partners to explore how to make them a reality. Ideas can be for programs or capital projects.
“We’ve had great success working with our nonprofit partners on Fun for All for nearly four years,” said Kimberly Bash, Chief Community Engagement Officer of the Foundation. “We are looking forward to hearing new ideas from our community members and expanding what we can do in our community.”
Details and submission information are available here.
