Newman Family Fund for Cancer Patient Services

Established 2025

This fund was established by the Newman Family to support Cancer Patient Services, an organization close to their hearts.

Dan and Julie Newman moved their family to Findlay in 1994. They have four children, Genna Freed, Merredeth Brown, Cole Newman and Olivia Lenhart, and two grandchildren, Mia and Otto.

Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, followed three months later by Genna, who was 30 at her time of diagnosis. Both have fully recovered and are living with no evidence of disease. Dan was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September 2024 and passed away in July 2025.

Cancer Patient Services’ mission is to support individuals and their loved ones battling a cancer diagnosis with a variety of services at no cost. Dan, Julie and Genna received tremendous support from Cancer Patient Services, and the family chose to thank the organization by starting this fund in Dan’s memory.
