On December 18, 2015, thanks to the dedicated organizational, planning and fund raising efforts of the Board of Directors of the Hancock County Performing Arts Center and lead donor, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts launched its premiere season. This fund will support the MCPA and its programming. Located in the former Findlay High School and Central Middle School, the MCPA was a labor of love for the Hancock County community, which was dedicated to preserving this historic downtown building and its Donnell Theater. By adding event spaces, a grand atrium and lounge, art gallery space and festival grounds, the new Marathon Center for the Performing Arts has become a focal point of the community and a hub for local arts enthusiasts.
