Standards for Determining Eligibility

The Scholarship will be offered in both Mariann and Chuck’s name, but the eligibility criteria will alternate annually.

In odd years, the criteria will be in honor of Mariann as follows:

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must plan to be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university pursuing a degree in Education.
  • The applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above while in high school.
  • The applicant must have participated in the arts, debate, or theatre while at Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must have participated in volunteer and community service.
  • Preference may be given to students obtaining the rank of the Gold Award through the Girls Scouts or Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America.
  • Financial need is a requirement.
  • Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.

In even years, the criteria will be in honor of Charles as follows:

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior of Findlay High School
  • The applicant must plan to be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university pursuing a degree in Business.
  • The applicant must have maintained a 3.5 GPA or above while in high school.
  • The applicant must have participated in sports and/or music while at Findlay High School.
  • The applicant must have participated in volunteer and community service.
  • Preference may be given to students with work experience.
  • Preference may be given to students obtaining the rank of the Gold Award through the Girls Scouts or Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America.
  • Financial need is NOT a requirement.
  • Students who receive full tuition scholarship support from other organizations or institutions will not be considered for this scholarship.

Renewable Guidelines

This scholarship may be renewed for up to three (3) consecutive years:

  • Recipient must re-apply each year to the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.
  • Recipient has been and will continue to be a full-time student and demonstrates, to the satisfaction of Scholarship Selection Committee, normal progress toward the degree program of recipient’s choice.
  • Recipient has not withdrawn or been expelled (however, personal tragedy may be considered as an exception).
  • Recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while at college.
  • Selection Committee, before renewal, will review any above requirements not met.
