Give to this Fund

Larry and Leslie Hoadley established this scholarship in memory of Larry’s parents, L. Frick and Helen M. Hoadley. Frick and Helen were long time members of the Van Buren community and both members of the Van Buren High School Class of 1934. Frick was a self-employed farmer who operated the family farm that was purchased by the family in 1871 and has been in the family ever since. Both Frick and Helen were very active in the Van Buren Presbyterian Church. Frick also enjoyed woodworking and Helen enjoyed reading and word finds. They were married for 75 years before Helen passed away in April of 2013 and Frick soon after in May of the same year. Larry and Leslie hope to honor Frick’s and Helen’s legacy by establishing this scholarship fund to encourage students to enroll in institutions that will help prepare them for future jobs in the “trades,” such as plumbers, electricians, mechanics, law enforcement, beauticians, auto repair, etc.
