The Denise Bowsher Bigelow Hill Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 in honor and memory of Denise Bowsher. Denise was a loving wife and a wonderful mother for two amazing sons! She was also a teacher and an advocate for young people accomplishing their goals.

Denise graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1989 with her Bachelor’s in Education and received her Master’s in Education at the University of Findlay. Denise, a Reading Intervention Specialist at Bigelow Hill Elementary in Findlay, Ohio, was an educator for more than three decades, impacting hundreds of students in her career. With a belief that all children can learn to read and a heart to serve those in need, Denise used a variety of strategies and methods to reach that goal. She provided her students with experiences they could use to broaden their chances of becoming a successful reader.

Over the years, Denise inspired her students to be the best they could be. She led by example with a heart big enough to love them all. Denise was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, music, dancing, and singing. Most of all, Denise loved her family and always cherished every moment she spent with them!
