The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is proud to announce a matching opportunity for IRS recognized tax-exempt organizations in Hancock County, Ohio.
"#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving," givingtuesday.org
On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, individuals, families, businesses and community organizations will come together to give back after the holiday shopping weekend. The emphasis on charity this one day is an unprecedented opportunity for nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation would like to celebrate this fundraising occasion by offering a match for those special 24 hours in November.
Through a $25,000 grant from The Community Foundation, and a $10,000 gift from the Charles J. Younger Fund, we will be providing a match of up to $500 total for each nonprofit who participates in this day of giving (collection of funds for the match either before or after November 27, 2018 is not permitted).
It’s FREE. Just register and do what you do best, tell your story!
It’s EASY. We will promote the event and offer training to those nonprofits that may need a boost.
It’s FUN. What better way to celebrate the work you do every day than by sharing it with the community?
It’s a WIN. Not only will we match your dollars raised, but it’s an opportunity to reach new donors.
When you return your gift log (below), you may choose to have the matching dollars distributed directly to your organization or to have them gifted to your endowment fund at TCF. Those dollars will be distributed in December 2018. The Foundation will be matching up to $500 per registered organization.
All gifts will need to be properly documented by the recipient organization. To learn more about the documentation process, be sure to attend our training session.
