Grants: An Overview
Contributions
Benefit Your Community
Established in 1992, The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation (FHCCF)
is an outgrowth of the L. Dale Dorney Fund. The Dorney Fund,
established in 1976 by L. Dale Dorney, has served as a model of
grantmaking and philanthropic giving in our community. Between the
years of 1976 and 1996, the Dorney Fund awarded $4.4 million in
grants to nonprofit organizations, educational programs and
scholarships that benefited citizens in Hancock County.
Many local donors have followed in Mr.
Dorney's footsteps, making it possible for The Community Foundation
to grant nearly $2.6 million in 2006.
