Grant Reporting

Overview
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, in accordance with its Grant Agreement, requires all grant recipients to prepare periodic narrative and financial reports on project activity and expenditures corresponding to the project’s approved budget.

Periodic reports are not only necessary for proper oversight to ensure accountability, but also serve as a valuable learning tool for both Foundation staff and grantees.  We greatly appreciate your candor and thoughtful review of your project experience.  Be assured that we do not share these documents with any other organization or funder.

Narrative and Financial Reports  

• Please refer to your grant award letter for the scheduled due dates of your reports.  

• Use the Grant Reporting forms for both interim and final reports. 

• We suggest that your response not exceed five pages.

• The financial report should include expenditures incurred as well as the balance of Foundation funds not expended through the reporting period. Use parentheses to indicate any budget deficits in the “Balance” column of the form. Each financial report should be signed by the grantee’s chief financial officer or chief executive officer.
• Final reports should include a review of performance and activities covering the entire grant period.

Release of Grant Funds
The Foundation may withhold scheduled grant payments until it has received properly completed narrative and financial grant reports.  Please refer to Section 3 of the Terms and Conditions of Grant for more information concerning the release of grant funds.

Unexpended Funds
Funds that are not expended or encumbered during the grant period should be returned to The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation unless the Foundation makes written authorization to extend the award beyond the original end date of the grant.
