Grant Deadlines

In order for The Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees to approve grants in a timely manner, strict due dates for each piece of a grant is listed below. Program staff will work with agencies through each step of the grant process. See our Guidelines for Grantseekers for assistance.

Competitive Grants

Competitive grants are broken up into four cycles per year with grants being awarded in February, May, September and November.

Cycle 1

  • Letter of Intent due first Friday of October 
  • Full Proposal due first Friday of December
  • Board Decision made third Thursday in February

Cycle 2

  • Letter of Intent due first Friday of January 
  • Full Proposal due first Friday of March 
  • Board Decision made third Thursday in May

Cycle 3

  • Letter of Intent due first Friday of April 
  • Full Proposal due first Friday of June 
  • Board Decision made third Thursday in September

Cycle 4

  • Letter of Intent due first Friday of July 
  • Full Proposal due first Friday of September 
  • Board Decision made third Thursday in November

Stitt Early Literacy Mentoring Grants

Stitt Early Literacy Mentoring grants are due the first Friday in March. The grant will include projects for the upcoming summer and following school year. Initial grant applications approved in March 2016 will be eligible for renewal for two additional years. Note: Please contact Kimberly Bash, Program Director, to check if you qualify for this grant.


Handbags That Help Grants

Handbags That Help (HTH) grants are due December 15 of each year. Letters of Intent for HTH are due the first Friday in August.  Note: HTH grants are evaluated by the HTH Grants Sub-circle and voted on by the members.
