Our
Mission
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is a tax exempt, not-for-profit, autonomous, publicly supported, philanthropic
institution. It is organized and operated as a permanent collection of endowment
funds for the long-term benefit of the Hancock County area.
The Community Foundation is a vehicle
to enhance the quality of life in Hancock County by using a variety of funds entrusted to
its stewardship by people, corporations, and organizations of various means to address
community problems and opportunities. The Community Foundation has a broad
grant program available to all charitable organizations in Hancock County and serves all
portions of the local population.
We serve three
primary constituencies:

Donors: As a vehicle for giving and an information
resource for local needs

As a source of grants and technical assistance,
and as a guardian of non-profit endowments

As a facilitator, convener, and catalyst around
significant community issues

At the Findlay-Hancock County Community
Foundation we
ensure that all contributions, regardless of the amount, will benefit our community today
and in the future. We help donors realize their chartable goals, and offer unique
opportunities to tailor their contributions, whether they wish to assist with educational
needs, initiate community improvements, expand health and human service resources, foster
vitality in the arts or fulfill some other purpose. Our staff can assist with gift
planning and grantmaking. We can help ensure your family's tradition of giving back
to your community. When you establish a fund, we become your partner in
philanthropy.
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is a
collection of stories telling the many ways in which people have realized their charitable
dreams and have provided a lasting legacy to others in our community. Founded in
1992 by a group of community leaders, the Foundation has grown in the philosophy that
"everyone can be a philanthropist".
Many donors - individuals, corporations, non-profit
organizations - have discovered the benefits of using the Community Foundation to
administer their charitable giving and expand their philanthropic horizons. Indeed,
it is a simple way to give to your community.
Donors can
establish new funds or they can contribute to
existing ones. Some donors are actively involved in recommending gifts and grants
from their funds to specific organizations, while other donors rely on the Foundation to
award promising programs and initiatives in the Hancock County area. Whichever

and enhance the communities capacity for collective good works.
